Horizon Middle School teachers and staff have a BUSY day next Monday, August 17! They'll be welcoming students and their families back for an open house from 12-2 pm. So we're going to help them start the day strong by providing breakfast.

If you can volunteer, here are the details:

🧔🏽 Let Shane know you can help, if you haven't already.
⏰ Show up at Legacy at 6 am to start cooking.
🚚 Take food from Legacy next door to Horizon around 7:30/8-ish.
🏫 Help set up the food in the office kitchenette space.

We have several Legacy Students who attend Horizon, so we're especially glad to support them.

Horizon was well represented at the North Dakota Indian Education Summit! Bismarck Public Schools

We’re excited to welcome Tony Aukland and Dr. Rod Jonas to the Bismarck Public Schools Board, and congratulate Amanda Peterson on her re-election to continue serving!

These leaders will help guide district policy and support the mission of BPS with a continued focus on student success.

The newly elected and returning members will begin their terms on July 1, 2026, and will attend their first board meeting on July 13, 2026, when board leadership positions will be selected.

Thank you to all candidates who participated and to our community members who voted — your engagement helps strengthen our schools.
