Lunch on the Lawn is back at BHES! Families are invited to join their students for lunch on the north lawn every Friday in September:

September 4, 11, 18, and 25!

Lunch Times:

Kindergarten: 11:00–11:30
1st and 2nd Grade: 11:40–12:10
3rd and 4th Grade: 12:20–12:50

Please remember that every student must have either a school lunch or a sack lunch in case a family member is running late or Lunch on the Lawn is canceled due to weather. Students will return to class with their teachers following lunch unless they are checked out through the office.

We understand that not every family can attend each week. Our staff will have blankets ready, and we will make sure every student has someone to sit with!

We can’t wait to enjoy Fridays in September with our BHES families!

What a fantastic first week back at BHES!

From big smiles at morning drop-off to busy hands in the classrooms, our teachers, staff, and students made these first few days truly special. Our Blue Devils brought so much energy, kindness, and excitement to start the new school year off right.

We are so proud of how quickly our students settled in, made new friends, and jumped right into learning. If this week was any indication, it’s going to be an unforgettable year!

Thank you to our amazing parents and community for your support in making day one to day five run so smoothly. Rest up this weekend, Blue Devils.

We’ll see those bright faces back on Monday!

📚 Back-to-School Health Services Available at Registration! 🩺

The OSF Care-a-Van will be on-site during BHES/BHJH/BHRA Registration Day on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, with services available on a walk-in basis—no appointment necessary!

🕗 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
🕒 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Services available:
✅ School Physicals
✅ Sports Physicals
✅ Immunizations

Physicals are required for:
• Pre-K
• Kindergarten
• 6th Grade
• 9th Grade
• Any student enrolling in an Illinois school for the first time

Immunizations are required for:
• Pre-K
• Kindergarten
• 6th Grade
• 12th Grade
• Any student who is not up to date on required immunizations

👨‍👩‍👧 A parent or guardian must be present to provide consent.

Skip the appointment and stop by during registration to get your student ready for a healthy, successful school year!
