BSC Theatre invites you to venture Into the Woods as we hold auditions for Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s beloved musical!

Lower level of the Advanced Technology Center on the BSC campus

There are still audition slots available, sign up and join us!

We are seeking actors high school age and up including adult actors. BSC students strongly encouraged to audition, but community members are absolutely welcome to audition and participate!

🎶 For your audition:
Please prepare a brief cut of a musical theatre song that showcases you and your voice. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled audition time to complete an audition form.

🌲 ABOUT THE SHOW
Into the Woods brings together some of our most familiar fairy-tale characters; the Baker and his Wife, Cinderella, Jack, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, a mysterious Witch and more as each ventures into the woods in pursuit of a wish. But when their wishes come true, they discover that “happily ever after” may only be the beginning.

Funny, moving, magical, and filled with one of Stephen Sondheim’s most celebrated scores, Into the Woods explores family, community, consequences, and what happens when the stories we think we know take an unexpected turn.

We LOVE The Rogers Black Box Theatre!!!!

Former BSC theater professor Daniel Rogers and his wife gave back to the program that meant so much to them with a donation. Their names are now officially on the college’s Black Box Theater.

💌 Rehearsals are well underway for Daddy Long Legs: The Musical!

Actors Peyton Schock and Max Wild are hard at work, and this charming, heartfelt musical is taking shape beautifully!

Based on the beloved novel by Jean Webster, Daddy Long Legs tells the story of Jerusha Abbott, a spirited young woman whose life is transformed by the gift of a college education and by an unexpected relationship that unfolds through letters. It’s a story filled with humor, hope, beautiful music, and the life-changing power of opportunity.

This production also marks a very special milestone for BSC Theatre as we celebrate the opening of the Rogers Black Box Theatre, an intimate new performance and teaching space made possible through the extraordinary generosity of Marlene K. Anderson and Daniel Rogers. We can’t think of a more fitting story to welcome audiences into this wonderful new home for our students and artists.

BSC Theatre is thrilled to announce that our 2027–2028 (NEXT YEAR) MainStage Season will open with one of the most beloved and powerful musicals ever written…

🎭 Les Misérables 🎭

In November of 2027, Victor Hugo’s timeless story of hope, redemption, sacrifice, courage, and the enduring power of love will come to life on the stage of the Advanced Technology Center Theatre at Bismarck State College.

From its soaring score and unforgettable characters to its breathtaking moments of humanity, Les Misérables has inspired audiences around the world for generations. We cannot wait to share this extraordinary theatrical experience with our students, our community, and audiences from across the region.

This is more than a production, it will be an EVENT.
