Congratulations to Nathan Mathern and Tsitsi Karanda on being named the winners of the Frontier Conference Grit Award for Men's and Women's Track & Field!
This award, in partnership with the Montana Army National Guard, recognizes one student-athlete in each sport who demonstrates extraordinary mental toughness, perseverance, and integrity both on and off the track.
Nathan’s relentless perseverance through injury, selfless leadership, and commitment to his teammates define what it means to compete with heart. Putting team success first, he continues to inspire on and off the track.
Tsitsi’s journey from Zimbabwe to becoming a national qualifier and team captain is a true testament to courage and resilience. After overcoming a season-ending ACL injury, she returned stronger than ever while continuing to uplift those around her.
They've truly embodied what it means to be a Mystic. Great job, Nathan and Tsitsi!
