Please join us in welcoming Dr. Allison Hunter, our new School Counseling Internship Director at the University of Mary.

Dr. Hunter is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas and the owner of Selah Counseling, where she provides compassionate, trauma-informed care. Her work integrates EMDR, Trust-Based Relational Interventionยฎ (TBRI), and trauma-informed yoga to support healing and resilience.

Known for her warm and grounded presence, Dr. Hunter brings both experience and heart to her work with students. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys time with her dogs, good books, meaningful moments with loved ones, and new adventures.

๐ŸŽ“ Calling UMary Counseling Alumni...We Need You! ๐ŸŽ“

We have another cohort of Graduate Counseling students preparing for graduation and stepping into the licensure process. As many of you likely remember, this season brings a lot of questions regarding applications, state board requirements, supervision hours, exams, timelines, and more.

Our students are located across the United States and are currently navigating licensure requirements in states such as South Dakota, North Dakota, Arizona, Maine, and several others.

We are looking for licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors who would be willing to connect with and informally mentor a graduating student in their state. This might include answering questions and offering insight from your experience, or providing general guidance during this transitional season.

If you are willing to support the next generation of UMary counselors, please email Dr. Holter at [email protected]

Your mentorship can make a meaningful difference during this pivotal professional milestone. Thank you for continuing to serve and support our counseling community. ๐Ÿ’›
