Yesterday Colton gave his presentation and we spent the day touring and learning about the incredible engineering, architecture, and history behind one of the most famous structures in the world.
Bonus: AI turned our group into a marble monument.
I’m not saying we belong in a museum… but the evidence is there.
Great experience, great views, and even better memories.

Another incredible couple of days in Italy! 🇮🇹
Yesterday we visited the breathtaking Benedict’s Cave in Subiaco — an unforgettable experience exploring the historic monastery built into the mountainside and learning about its incredible history and architecture.
Today Wendy gave a great presentation on the ancient Roman sewer system and how Roman engineering still influences modern infrastructure today. Pretty amazing to see how advanced their systems were thousands of years ago!
History, engineering, and hands-on learning all in one journey!

Day 3: Our engineering students explored more of the incredible engineering of Ancient Rome, visiting the Pantheon and the Roman aqueducts. Seeing structures that have stood for nearly 2,000 years gives a whole new appreciation for Roman innovation, design, and craftsmanship.
One of our students completed her project on the Roman aqueducts and had the opportunity to serve as our tour guide for this remarkable monument. It was exciting to see her share her knowledge and connect classroom learning with real-world history.
Grateful for the opportunity to experience history firsthand while learning from some of the world’s greatest engineering achievements!

After spending the spring semester researching the engineering achievements of Ancient Rome, our engineering students are now experiencing history firsthand in Rome! 🇮🇹🏛️
This incredible journey has taken them from the ancient structures they studied all semester to an unforgettable opportunity today — seeing the Pope in Vatican City.
From engineering marvels to cultural and historical experiences, this trip is bringing classroom learning to life in extraordinary ways.
