BHS Dismissing Early Today Due to Safety Precaution

This morning, Bismarck High School received a threatening call. School administration immediately contacted law enforcement and began working closely with the Bismarck Police Department.

Based on the initial investigation, this appears to be a swatting call, meaning a false report intended to prompt a law enforcement response. Currently, there is no evidence of a credible threat.

However, following further assessment, law enforcement has recommended that we dismiss students for the remainder of the day out of an abundance of caution.

Bismarck High School is in the process of dismissing students. Additional staff and law enforcement are on site to ensure a safe and orderly dismissal.

Students who drove or walked may leave when directed
Busing will be provide for students who ride a bus home
Students who need to be picked up will travel to a reunification site at Zion Lutheran, located at 413 E. Avenue D, where they may be picked up by guardians.

The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we appreciate your understanding as we respond with caution. If you have any immediate concerns, please contact the school office.

BPS serves an average of 12,622 meals each day across 24 kitchens and 27 sites.

A centralized kitchen would support schools with limited capacity โ€” allowing us to prepare MORE fresh produce and process MORE local ground beef while ensuring consistency across the district.

One District. One Plan. One Vote.
