Inspire Collective is a projects based learning community where we learn, fellowship and collaborate as we move through our school year. Ephesians 4:16

This is a faith based community that will teach project based science, history, and other enrichment areas. We meet once per week for 24 weeks starting beginning of Oct., with Holiday breaks throughout. Our goal with Inspire Collective is to connect each other to the strengths and passions of this wonderful Homeschool Community and join forces to help teach our children in a group setting where we

The kids have learned so much about the American Revolution this year! They’re gaining a stronger grasp on the who, what, where, when, and why of that time in history. So many great activities were planned along with their lessons — here are some highlights.

One thing we love about our group is the chance for weekly community. Here are some clicks from a day last month.

In History, they journeyed along the trail and learned about the battles of Lexington and Concord. A Valentine’s party/exchange was held during Enrichment….how creative are those boxes? In Science, they got really hands on and made model volcanoes. The preschoolers had their own Valentine’s exchange and made a fun trail mix. ❤️

The Inspire kids were able to do some exciting service work this past semester. It’s always so great for kids to feel like they’re making a difference in the world around them.

They packed Comfort Kits for Addilynn’s Believers. These kits will go to families who are in local hospitals to make their stay more comfortable. They are filled with thoughtful items and the kids had a lot of fun putting them together.

Wreaths were made for residents at a local care center, and the kids were able to hand them out and do some caroling and piano playing for them. They were so appreciated by those sweet grandmas and grandpas!

They also packed envelopes filled with gifts for kids in Haiti through Lespwa Lavi. Some of the children there have never received a gift before, and being able to help provide something was impactful for our group.

Looking forward to what this next semester has in store!

This semester has been a whirlwind and we’re already getting toward the end. It’s been such a sweet time of learning together.

In the past few months the K-6th graders have covered the following:
• Science: Learning about Energy
• History: Early American History
• Enrichment: Inventors and their inventions, holiday celebrations, service and STEM projects

We’ve gotten to enjoy some great field trips this fall! There is so much to learn right in our area, and we’re grateful to be able to experience these things together.

Here are some photos to our trip to the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center & Fort Mandan, the International Pow Wow at United Tribes Technical College, and the Knife River Indian Villages.

Our Inspire crew is back at it for the 22-23 school year! In science this year, the kids are covering Zoology, and have started by learning about the classification, insects, and so much more.

Right now in History, the kids are learning about maps, directions and orienteering with all kinds of hands on activities and games. Making compasses, Map Battleship, and so much more.

In Enrichment, they spent the first couple weeks getting to know one another a bit better. It was so much fun learning more about everyone. Lately, they’ve been covering some information about air pressure and weather balloons.

The preschoolers and toddlers have been busy playing and learning new things as well. It’s been so nice to be back in session!

This past year in Inspire, we learned about Ancient and Midieval History. There was so much hands on learning. They covered the rise and fall of the Roman Empire the first half of the school year, and the second half included the Middle Ages, along with the Mayans, Incas, and Aztecs.

The kids learned about voting, architecture, games, art, food, religions, wars, and more! Here are just a handful of photos showing some of the areas mentioned. What a fun year!

Here’s what you will find in preschool at Inspire. We enjoy a lot of hands on projects, large chunks of time for free play, and good books. This year we did some nature study, made rainbows, practiced our fine motor skills, played games, practiced teamwork and building skills, found out what was in the inside of a pumpkin and roasted the seeds to sample, painted a LOT, discovered what happens when you give a moose a muffin and tried our hand at making muffins of our own, and so much more!

This year in science at Inspire, we have been studying human anatomy and physiology. Special focus has been given along the way to highlight the many ways that we are all very much the same, yet, at the same time, utterly unique.

Many lessons included activities to bring awareness to differences that kids may encounter as they meet others. Some examples include: designing prosthetics during our musculoskeletal lesson, completing a maze while blindfolded to simulate blindness, and completing instructions while wearing earplugs to better understand deafness.

We just finished a month long space unit in Enrichment. Here are some moments caught during classes with our older group.

We learned about moon phases, the moon’s surface and made moon lanterns. We spent a week talking about planets, pointed out cool things about them and tried to get a better idea about the size and distances of each one compared to the others. Another week covered constellations, where we made our own star scopes with customized views, and found really amazing things with different star gazing apps. The highlight of the unit was getting to experience the dome. Everyone got to experience watching clips about space, checking out the planets, and viewing the ND sky at night!
