Most of us have heard, perhaps from Bruce Lee or other legends of Chinese culture, the aphorism "Be Like Water." Sounds great and wise, but the bumper sticker phrase doesn't tell you that if we're to move like water we have to gather solidness like steel into our bones. We can't expect to do well being limp like noodles. To move like water we have to know ourselves like steel. When we gather our stability into steely bones and let go of our muscles, then our movements really do flow as easily as water, or even air. It takes practice.
