Last week, our culinary class made these beautiful carrot cake cupcakes with carrots they picked at our Inyo Farm @ School!

The carrots are sweet and delicious, and they made the best cupcakes! 🥕

Our JKBS students have been hard at work at Inyo Farm at School, growing and harvesting fresh produce each week. In addition to selling their fresh-picked veggies to staff, they recently participated in the Eastern Sierra Farm Fresh Farmers Market at the Methodist Church—and it was a huge success!

JKBS students and staff recently rolled up their sleeves to support a campus beautification effort. Removing these stones was no small task—it required teamwork, dedication, and a lot of hard work—and our team stepped up!. We are excited to see this space transformed and look forward to the beautiful new lawn that will take root there later this spring.

Our first JKBS Farmers Market! This past Friday, our students sold veggies they helped to grow on the new Inyo Farm to School farm located at the Bishop Elementary School campus. Fresh-picked Friday morning, we offered spinach, butter lettuce, and radishes. It was a huge success!

We’ve had a great few weeks in culinary class! Last week was full of fall treats that were sold at out weekly coffee cart.

This week we learned how to make sourdough bread, and followed that up with sourdough scones for this weeks coffee cart.
