Today, we celebrated our principals at their meeting to honor Principal Appreciation Month!

We’re grateful for the leadership, care, and dedication our principals bring to their schools each day. From supporting teachers and staff to encouraging students and connecting with families, they give so much to their school communities.

Please join us in celebrating our MCS principals:

• Dr. Marvin Smith — East Middle School
• Emily Dunn — Green Ridge Elementary School
• Rufus Samkin — Montgomery Central High School
• Dr. Heather Seawell — Montgomery County Early College

• Kesha Collins — Mt. Gilead Elementary School
• Jon LaChance — Page Street Elementary School
• Amanda Deaton — Star Elementary School

What does a feeling look like?

Our sixth graders explored that question during an SEL lesson with Mrs. Williams. As different music selections played, students closed their eyes and drew what they were feeling. It was a creative way to notice how music can affect our emotions and to express feelings that can be hard to put into words!
