Important Update Regarding This Week’s Football Events

Dear Families and Staff,

I am writing to share an important update regarding activities surrounding this week’s football game between Bisbee High School and Douglas High School.

We have been made aware of an incident involving vandalism at the opposing team’s athletic field. Law enforcement in Douglas is actively investigating the matter, including whether individuals associated with BHS may have been involved. We are cooperating fully with the investigation and encourage anyone who has information about what occurred to contact local law enforcement.

We want to be clear that this type of behavior does not reflect the values of Bisbee High School or our school community. We expect our students and all those who represent our schools to conduct themselves respectfully, responsibly, and with good sportsmanship, both at school-sponsored events and throughout our community.

Because this remains an active investigation, we have made the decision to cancel the bonfire scheduled for this evening. We are also assessing other activities planned in the days leading up to the football game, as well as the game itself, in light of the circumstances.

We remain committed to providing opportunities for our students to show their school spirit in ways that are positive, respectful, and safe.

We will share additional information about upcoming events as we learn more. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us reinforce the importance of representing our school and community with pride and respect.
