Although Hassan's time on the big stage was cut short by that dastardly dictionary, his experience at Scripps National Spelling Bee will be a memory that he cherishes for a lifetime. This upcoming 5th grader has personality that busts at the seams.

Wouldn’t it “bee” great if Hassan followed in Erin’s footsteps and became another Scripps National Spelling Bee champion? We’ll certainly be 🐝 watching!
Throwback to 2019 and that time we made arrangements for the Bee Champion to throw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium. Who could have imagined we'd end up with eight champions instead of just one 🤣 We scrapped the first pitch – eight flying baseballs could have been problematic – but the Yankees honored all of our OctoChamps on the field that day! ⚾️

The goody bags are ready for the participants to pick up between 10a and 11a. The Bee officially begins at noon. Take the time between checkin and Bee time to enjoy the “bee”autiful weather, get lunch, and continue to study.

We are just four weeks away from the Alabama Spelling Bee. Meet your 2026 Alabama Spelling Bee participants.
The Alabama Spelling Bee will be held on Saturday, March 21 at UAB’s University Hall. Students are required to checkin anytime between 10a and 11a. They have free time until the Bee begins at noon. They may bring whomever they wish to watch.
A packet will be mailed out to all participants in the next few days.

This is a great way to study for the Alabama Spelling Bee. In just a few weeks, students will receive their packet in the mail with more information regarding the Alabama Spelling Bee.
The Alabama Spelling Bee will be held on Saturday, March 21 at UAB’s University Hall. Students must check in by 11am. Free time for lunch (or studying) is until noon when the Bee begins.
Packets cannot be sent out until ALL counties have submitted their winner. If you are one of those counties, you have been notified. Please submit your winner ASAP.
