Glen Iris💚💚Today in Ms. Savoie’s first grade class, students participated in an engaging reading headband game where they practiced using their reading and decoding skills to identify words. Scholars also worked on reading and writing CCVC words and wrote sentences that they read aloud independently!

Glen Iris💚💚 Ms. Savoie’s first graders read The Very Hungry Caterpillar! After reading the story, we answered comprehension questions, sequenced the events, and drew the foods the caterpillar ate throughout the week. The students had so much fun!!!

We also discussed healthy and unhealthy foods and learned about the life cycle of a caterpillar. The students enjoyed connecting the story to science and healthy habits!

Glen Iris💚💚Our Kindergarten and First Grade (Ms. Savoie’s and Ms. Hendricks) students traded in their hands for cooking gloves as they stepped into the kitchen to learn how to make healthy Asian style egg rolls! The scholars had an amazing time exploring new ingredients, learning cooking skills, and creating their very own delicious egg roll. That they enjoyed! Our scholars were BIG smiles! 😊

Empower💜 Today was a vibe! Our 3rd graders were asked to be preset 5 out of 6 week days from April 9th-16th. Our students and their parents know how important attendance is to 21st Century, so we teamed up to ensure that each student was present and accounted for. Music, fun, and prizes are always the move!
