BREAD has continued to serve families in Pratt City, North Birmingham, Forestdale, Adamsville with after school enrichment, summer camp, and adult education programs. The enrichment program, STEPS (Striving to Equip and Prepare) serves a Safe Haven for more than 100 students daily. Students and their parents rely on the program to provide school work assistance, arts and crafts, physical activity,

nutritious snacks, character education, and participation in service learning activities. Students who ae enrolled at BREAD have experienced drastic improvements in grades and character!

Today, our young scientists put the 95° heat to the test! Using eggs, aluminum foil, and parchment paper, students explored heat transfer and thermal energy while observing how heat can cause physical changes. 🧪☀️

Hands-on science is the best science! 💜

Well, Summer learning has come to an end at Wilkerson Middle School! 💜💜The BREAD Students had a blast. The students enjoyed financial literacy classes with Regions Bank, culinary arts with Debra Lawson, music production with Kreative Minds Music and farming with Jones Valley Teaching Farm.  They also had the opportunity to take field trips. They visited The Southern Museum Of Flight, Untamed Tigers For Tomorrow in Attalla, Alabama and the McWane Center.

Glen Iris💚💚Today in Ms. Savoie’s first grade class, students participated in an engaging reading headband game where they practiced using their reading and decoding skills to identify words. Scholars also worked on reading and writing CCVC words and wrote sentences that they read aloud independently!

Students had so much fun!!!!
