My heart is heavy as we acknowledge the recent tragedy involving Christina Chambers in Birmingham, AL. I extend sincere condolences to her family, her precious child, colleagues, and a community now carrying profound grief. This loss reminds us—again—that pain and danger are not always visible. Smiles, success, and public presence can conceal private suffering.

Domestic violence often lives behind closed doors, unseen and unheard, until tragedy forces it into the light. May this moment deepen our compassion, sharpen our awareness, and strengthen our resolve to speak up, intervene early, and support prevention. Praying comfort and covering for all who are mourning—and renewed commitment to protect lives before the silence becomes irreversible.
