Before students learn the content, the routines, or the expectations, they learn something much more important:
Do I belong here?
Every student deserves to walk into a classroom knowing they are valued, capable, and an important part of the community.
Creating truly inclusive classrooms isn’t about simply placing students in the same room. It’s about building environments where students with disabilities are welcomed, supported, challenged, and given meaningful opportunities to participate and succeed.
That’s a big part of what I explore in Blueprint for Inclusion: practical strategies for creating more inclusive classrooms and making sure every student knows they belong.
