The Birmingham House tour is back for the 37th year and we’re bringing a few surprises with us.

Join us September 17 for a day of extraordinary homes, inspired design, and a Birmingham tradition worth experiencing.

TCHA is operating under a new name, Shared Tomorrows Community Foundation. Net proceeds from House Tour will go towards providing grants to local nonprofits and scholarships for high school students seeking higher education at Michigan colleges, trade schools, etc.

A new chapter. A renewed purpose. And so much opportunity ahead. 💙

We’re grateful to Crain’s Detroit Business for sharing the story of our transition to doing business under our new name, Shared Tomorrows Community Foundation.

Our history gave us a strong foundation. Now, we’re looking ahead—supporting local nonprofits, creating opportunities for students, and connecting generosity with the needs of our community.

The next chapter is just beginning, and we’re excited to build it together.

The Community House Association, a Birmingham institution for more than a century, has converted to a new operating model and name, after emerging from bankruptcy.

We recently announced that The Community House Association will evolve to become The Birmingham Area Community Foundation. Operations in our building at 380 S. Bates Street will end next June as we usher in a new chapter in fulfilling our nonprofit mission.

At the heart of this evolution is our desire to make a more meaningful impact. Our future will be focused on giving back through a new structure: The Birmingham Area Community Foundation. In this format, we can strengthen and uplift the community through grantmaking and mentorship to area nonprofits as well as provide scholarships for local students pursuing education beyond high school.

This is not the end of The Community House Association; it is the next chapter in fulfilling our mission.

To learn more about this transformation please see our frequently asked questions at the link in our bio.

As we transition into this new chapter as a foundation, we encourage you to join us for one of our final events in this space. Spend an evening at the House and enjoy a gourmet dinner buffet prepared by our Executive Chef Ryan, followed by a complimentary screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic, Rear Window. A masterclass in suspense and storytelling, this gripping thriller will leave you on edge until the final frame. Tickets are available at the link in our bio. This will be a night to savor, both on the plate and on the screen.
