I remember when I first met you.
I may have been roughly 35 years ago.
I was once pushed around layered in bands of gaudy obscurity.
I was separated into horizontal poles like inverted frozen deserts.
Then I met you one day in the mall. You were firm yet flexible.
You supported me. You told me that you were a secret, but you were just about every woman's secret.
It was okay. We all wanted you. Many of us NEEDED you!
We shared stories of how you lifted us up and beautifully presented us to the world. You gave us a bond like nothing else.
You gave us options other than matriarchial lace and introduced bold satins and the softest cotton.
But over time, you became cantankerous and contorted.
Your convoluted, piercing, and gnarled ends spurt through my decolletage attempting to perforate my heart or my esophagus for there is no low-hanging fruit.
I loved you, Underwire Brassiere! You effectively bolstered the buttress of my feminine stature for many years.
But you are poking the heck out of me and the sports bra is looking mighty fine right now.
