Please pray for Afghanistan.

As American forces are swiftly and chaotically being pulled out of the war torn nation, the Taliban in Afghanistan have been making lightening fast offensive attacks, capturing city after city.
This weekend, as the President fled, the Taliban conquered the State Capital of Kabul.
A mass exodus has ensued. Online, you can find multiple videos of people swarming the few planes left at the Kabul International airport, fearing retaliation of torture or death from the Taliban because of their ties to the West. Some have compared these scenes to Saigan back in 1975 when U.S. forces pulled out of Vietnam.

What will this mean for the Afghan people? The future of Afghanistan looks bleak. In the past, before America invaded Afghanistan, the Taliban were cruel and forceful rulers. They enforced public executions for crimes of murder and adultery, they cut off the arms of thieves, and they forced women out of schools, and jobs. They are Islamist extremists at their core and they look to enforce their interpretation of Islamic law. They deny religious liberty, and oppose the Christian faith adamantly.
If the Taliban rule, we can expect to see the persecution of Christians rise exponentially.
The Taliban has recently made claims that they are now less extreme and that they want to form an “inclusive, Islamic government”. However many fear that will not be the case. One indicator that the Taliban will be just as harsh, if not more, than it was in the past is that they’re wanting to rename the country, “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan”, which was its name last time they ruled the state, indicating they want Afghanistan to look like it did before.

How can we be praying?
Pray that God would strengthen the Christians in Afghanistan.
Pray that God would give hope to the Afghan People.
Pray that we would not see the human rights violations we did under former Taliban rule.
Pray that God would give the Taliban revelation of what the law should be; what law is truly just, and how freedom allows societies to flourish.

Psalm 9:18- “But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.”

Hi, my name is Nathan and I want to share a quick testimony that God did on my recent outreach trip to Colombia. One day on our outreach we went to an awesome, christian kids center in a small village called Piedras. The kid’s center was originally located in Bogota, but God called the founders and staff to go somewhere where no one else was, so they up rooted their life and moved hours away to do what God called them to do. But while we were there I got the opportunity to share my testimony about how pursued me and wanted a relationship with me and that God wanted a relationship and to speak to them as well. I honestly didn’t think my message spoke to anyone but God used my little testimony to speak to a little kid named Gilbert. Gilbert boldly claimed he wanted to start his relationship with God in front of all his class mates. I was honored and baffled that God wanted to use my seemingly insignificant story to change this little boys life forever. Never discount what God can do with your story.

🙏🏼 📖 James 2:20 NLT “How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?”

As Christians we are called to put our faith into action. It may be hard, but God will give us the strength to do it. So ask yourself today, “How can I be putting my faith into action?” It could be simple, like praying for a stranger on the street or sharing your testimony to a friend who is struggling. We need to constantly look for ways to put our faith into action. ✝️ ➡️🏃🏽

Please pray for our first International outreach team in 2021! 🇨🇴 They will be leaving tomorrow to train church leaders in Colombia for a week. We are excited to see what God will do through this small team of 5! Please pray for safety and the people’s hearts will be open to God. ❤️

3 things the Bible does not say but we often subconsciously believe. The Bible is not a comfortable book and it does not cater to our desires. Really reading and putting into practice The word of God will cause us discomfort and might even be painful. But as Christians we don’t live for comfort, we live for something far more fulfilling and greater. We live to see God transform us into his image and to establish His Kingdom on earth to see others encounter and be transformed by Him, no matter the circumstances.

While on an outreach in the desolate wilderness of eat Asia, one of Ywam’s teams encountered a disgruntled elderly man chopping wood. When the team presented him with the gospel his demeanor changed and he expressed that this was his first time hearing the gospel. Before the team left, he had decided to give his life to Jesus and was filled a miraculous joy. The team was able to take his photo with a Polaroid camera and you can see the absolute joy in his face brought on by the powerful gospel of Jesus Christ. Let us never forget, The gospel brings joy.
