This week, our Educational Leadership faculty and staff attended the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS) annual convention and connected with educational leaders from across the state.

We were also grateful for the opportunity to host a dinner for School of Education alumni attending the conference, bringing together graduates who are making an impact in schools and districts throughout Alabama. ❤️💙

Some dreams start early.

In 2004, Grace Hemmer's students had fur, floppy ears and lived in her bedroom.

Today, she's standing in front of a real classroom and has been named Shelby County Schools' First-Year Secondary Teacher of the Year.

We loved welcoming the first group of incoming freshmen and their parents to the School of Education today! We can't wait to see all God has in store as these future Bulldogs begin their Samford journey.

A new concentration is coming this fall to the School of Education! 🐾

The Animal Assisted Services concentration within our Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) department will explore the growing impact of animal-assisted services across health care, education, nonprofit and community settings while studying the meaningful connection between humans and animals.
