Making connections was the name of the game at our Teacher Education mixer! 🍩

During the first week of classes, our sophomores, juniors and seniors enjoyed Krispy Kreme doughnuts and participated in a bingo game designed to get to know students from other class years as well as faculty and staff. Completed bingo cards were entered into a prize drawing to end the event.

Presented during Samford's opening convocation, this award honors outstanding undergraduate teaching. As our Distinguished Beeson Professor and Character Scholar in Residence, Gerhardt is known for her dedication to students, passion for teaching and commitment to building meaningful connections. We are proud to call her one of our own.

The Samford community mourns the loss of alumnus Derrick Moore, who tragically passed after rescuing a girl struggling in a rip current in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Moore is a 2001 graduate of Samford, where he played football and ran track & field. A beloved teacher, Moore is remembered as a true hero. Please keep the Moore family in your prayers during this time.

Our Teacher Education faculty hosted a breakfast to thank Trace Crossings Elementary faculty and staff for welcoming our ESEC and ELMN junior block students into their school year after year.

Many School of Education graduates also teach and lead at Trace Crossings, making this partnership even more meaningful.
