For many students, college is their first experience navigating life without the support systems they’ve always known. That’s where academic advisers step in—offering guidance, encouragement and direction when it matters most.
Since 1990, Jan Paine has been that steady presence for undergraduate students at Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing. As she begins her 36th year, we’re celebrating the incredible impact she’s made.
Students and alumni shared heartfelt notes of appreciation, while faculty and staff celebrated her in person with a time of fellowship and, of course, cake.

Strong nursing programs don’t happen by accident—they are built through vision, leadership and critical support.
Associate Dean Stephanie Wynn has secured more than $40 million in competitive federal and foundation grant funding, expanding opportunities for students and strengthening the nursing workforce.
“By broadening access to nursing education and strengthening real-world training partnerships, we are preparing graduates to step in with confidence and improve care in the communities that need it most,” Wynn said.
