DISCO is seeking Spanish-speaking Fellows to assist in our bilingual poetry workshops in Birmingham City Schools. Classes meet on Wednesday mornings beginning in November, and fellows receive a stipend for their work.

DISCO is seeking creative writers, artists, and college students who are passionate about the arts, education and design. Fellows lead or assist in writing workshops in Birmingham schools, participate in all aspects of the production of DISCO’s publishing projects, and support the inner workings of our nonprofit organization. Fellows receive a stipend for their work and may be eligible for class credit, as well.

Join us this Sunday, 11/17, at 3 PM at Railroad Park for a reading by Birmingham Poet Laureate, Salaam Green, along with DISCO students to celebrate Leaves of Poetry, an eco-friendly installation of student poems throughout the park.

We just picked up 100 leaves of poetry made by that will be displayed in the trees of Railroad Park this fall!
Please save the date for a Poetry Celebration on Sunday, November 17th at 3 PM at the pavilion at Railroad Park.
