Birmingham Etiquette and Protocol Academy, founded by Beverly Carroway, is an educational and development program focusing on dining and social skills. Our classes are interactive,engaging, fun and informative. Birmingham Etiquette and Protocol Academy's hands on approach will keep your child engaged and involved. Children today have a variety of classes and lessons they are involved in. Often, one very important educational aspect is overlooked. These are skills that your child will use throughout his/her life. BEPA offers adult classes for those who want to set themselves apart from the crowd. Many business transactions, including job interviews, are conducted at the dining table. BEPA focuses on providing adults with polished dining skills needed to generate first class impressions in any business or social situation. A native of Birmingham and former owner of Design, Etc. an interior design business brings more than 20 years of experience to her role as founder of Birmingham Etiquette & Protocol Academy. Beverly's business-social savvy and her personal passion for helping young minds thrive naturally led her to open doors of BEPA. She is certified by the American School of Protocol in Atlanta. Beverly is a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, where she is actively involved in the Children's Ministry. Beverly has also had extensive involvment within the Birmingham art community where she has instructed children's art classes at the YWCA and Vestavia Community Center. In addition, she has served as a community artist for Very Special Arts of Alabama. Beverly provides protocol instruction to children, young adults and corporate professionals throughout the United States. Essential Manners and Social Skill for Teens will give your teenager important skills they will use for a life time. This program teaches important life skills including self confidence, self respect presence poise attitudes of success, dining etiquette and social skills.

The question: When dining, what do I do with my napkin if I leave the table before ending the meal? Should you have to leave the table gently fold your napkin and place to the left of your plate. In upper scale restaurants your napkin will be replaced if you must leave the table.

I was asked the other day, "What side of the plate does your drink go on"? Sometimes a server will place your drink on the left. If you said the right you are correct. An easy way to remember is the "b" & "d" rule. Bread plate on the left and drink on the right.
