Meet the new Stump Scholars!

Today, we celebrated 12 outstanding business and accounting students as they joined the prestigious Stump Entrepreneurship Program, taking on leadership and service responsibilities while enjoying the academic and career opportunities of the program.

Today, Bridget O’Neal ‘18 (right), manager at Kassouf, along with Lydia Williams ‘24, who is currently interning at Kassouf, talked to Dr. Tracy Smith’s accounting students about “Do’s and Don’ts for Interviews and Internships.”

Did you know that BSC is one of the top two providers of Volunteer Income Tax (VITA) volunteers in the Birmingham area? 🤩

On Friday, ten of our Accounting students completed a full day of training with Caroline Janeway, the Alabama State Director of SaveFirst.

This training prepares them to complete the IRS certification exam required to participate in the VITA program. Along with other certified BSC students, they will then be able to volunteer at SaveFirst tax preparation sites in Smithfield, Titusville, and Springville through mid-April, providing free tax preparation services to low-income families.

📕 A new business book “Effective Methods for Teaching Business-Related Topics During and Post-Crisis” 📚 was just published and Dr. Harrison & Dr. Shoreibah’s book chapter was accepted and chosen as chapter 1️⃣! Congratulations 🍾🎉🎊

🏙️Birmingham, Alabama served as the host city for the 2024 U.S. Association for Small Business & Entrepreneurship conference last month 🎉
