The racetrack Barber Motorsports Park became a classroom last month, when a UAB mechanical engineering class spent a day at the races during the Children's of Alabama Indy Grand Prix. Andrés Morales took his Vehicle Dynamics class to Barber, where students were able to talk with engineers from the Indycar teams, visit the museum, and enjoy a birds-eye view of the pit area. Congratulations to Ho-Wook Jun, Ph.D., recipient of The University of Alabama System’s McMahon-Pleiad Prize.

From pioneering regenerative medicine breakthroughs to translating discoveries into clinical applications, Jun’s work moves science forward. Now, this award will help open even more doors for students pursuing biomedical innovation at UAB.
