Mustang Families here's what's happening this week!

We are ready for another great week at Green Acres Middle School! As we continue our journey toward Destination Success, we are keeping students at the center of everything we do.

A special THANK YOU to all of our families and community members who attended our Open House and Title I Meeting. Your partnership and support make a difference!

For this week's Instructional Focus our teachers will continue to adress academic vocabulary, formative assessments, and student data chats. Students will begin taking a closer look at their own academic data, identifying areas for growth, and setting goals for success.

September's primary focus is attendance. Attendance Matters! Every day, every class, and every minute counts. When students miss school, they miss valuable instruction. Please help us make daily and on-time attendance a priority.

GAMS Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser is August 31 through Sptember 5! There is no cash collection, purchases are made online, and 50% of sales support Green Acres Middle School.

Parents, take a few minutes this week to ask your Mustang: What did you learn about your data today, and what goal did you set?

Our instructional focus this week is Formative Assessments: Adjusting Instruction. Teachers will regularly check for student understanding and use that information to adjust instruction and provide additional support when needed.

We are also continuing our focus on academic vocabulary, with students moving beyond simply copying definitions to using strategies such as Frayer Models, visuals, examples/non-examples, morphology, and context clues.

This evening will provide families with an opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms, learn more about our Title I program and school-wide resources, and hear about our academic goals and expectations for the year.
