Our SGA officers and Mr. Morris enjoyed meeting with Mayor Stewart today! They were able to share information about our “Feed the Need” fundraiser with the mayor and also learn about local government. We really appreciate this opportunity for our students! 🦅

All of our Cross Country runners had a good race. Amari Turner and Shannon Washington had PR times. Brandon Williams had his best time of the season. We are proud of them! 🏃🏾♂️🏃🏽🦅

Our Varsity across had a great meet on Saturday! Kyle Williams finished 14th out of 117 runners with a time of 20:14.89. Brandon Williams finished 40th with a time of 22:19.14. Alex Grill had a season PR, and Shannon Washington and Amari Turner both had overall PRs! We also had two alumni come out to support the team: Cayden Bishop and Josh Polhemus! 🏃🏾♂️🏃🏽🦅

The JCA booth at the “Irondale National Night Out” was the place to be last night! It was a huge success because of the parents, students, faculty and staff that helped prepare and worked the booth. We cooked and served 500 hotdogs for the Irondale Police department. Thanks to them for giving us the opportunity to participate! 🚓🦅

4th Grade has been working on their prepositions projects. They are making a 3-D setting and writing a skit for their characters. Their skit must contain 10 or more prepositions. They will perform the skits today! 🦅

Our Middle School classes enjoyed a visit to the Birmingham Civil Rights District. They toured the 16th Street Baptist Church and A. G. Gaston Motel. Before leaving the District, they visited Kelly Ingram Park. They were also able to hear Christopher Paul Curtis, author of “The Watsons go to Birmingham,” speak about the writing process. 🦅

Our total for the first turn-in day for the Cookie Dough Fundraiser was over $13,600!! The top two selling classes this week are Kindergarten and 6th grade! Our goal is $30,000 so we are not done yet. We have two more turn-in days so please continue to sell and purchase cookie dough as well as other items in the online store.
