This was Such a special group of young intellectuals, academics, athletes, and my personal favorite CREATIVES. Through all the adversity these kids not only graduated but some graduated with success on a NATIONAL level we don't even have to mention state. I love this group and as a community we are so proud of this Carver 22' class. We love and miss you Dwaine Thomas! We know you were with your class and teammates today Rest in Power my boy.

Friday was a big day for Carver's R4 Recycling Team. With over 50 entries from youth across metro-Birmingham, they won the award for Overall Impact at the YouthServe Youth in Service Awards. The team was recognized for their student-led recycling program and effort to reduce waste across school.

Pastoral Point Guard our students remember Parker going toe to toe with Cj Beckham in Basketball Summer tournaments and knew he was an outstanding player. Now with PPG we know he was an even more outstanding person! Our students are more than willing to help fulfill his mission/purpose whenever the opportunity presents. From G.W. Congratulations to Makiyah Pullum, who was recently featured in YouthServe, Inc.'s 2021 Senior Spotlight series! Makiyah is a senior at G.W. Carver High School and a two-year member of the Carver Changemaker Council.
This Fall, Makiyah will attend Lawson State University where she will major in Nursing.
