Happy International Children’s Day to my amazingly talented students!🎉❤️🎉

A couple of weeks ago we closed the school year with some good fun, enjoying each other’s company, listening together to recordings of Martha Argerich, Horowitz and Lang Lang, among others; learning how to dance the Menuet; unleashing creativity through painting and other arts & crafts projects. We also said goodbye to Timothy, Abigail, Olivia, Luke, and Sophia who will be moving away this summer - they will be so very, very missed! Finally, we celebrated our most recent successes from competitions that were held in May - 5 winners, 15 honorable mentions, and 8 outstanding students in the AMTA State auditions; 2 Musical Miniature winners, and 5 winners and 3 honorable mentions in the BMTA Sonata competition. So very proud of everyone for a wonderful year of hard work, learning, and growth! Enjoy the summer! ❤️❤️❤️

Huge congratulations are in order for the 30 students who recently participated in the AMTA District Auditions. All received Double Outstanding - both in Theory and Performance- and qualified for the State Auditions which will be held on May 10 in Tuscaloosa. While 2 of them will have to miss because of a robotics competition conflict, the rest of them are diligently getting ready! We are beyond proud of everyone! Way to go Ethan, Matthew, Mao, Alex, Joseph, David, Madeline, Kevin Jing, Katherine, Brandon, Ava, Luke, Olivia, Abigail, Jonah, Lucas, Ellie Wang, Ellie Huang, Yawen, Kevin Li, Jonathan, Aaron, Millie, Ella, Sissy, Sophia, Mandy, Jasmine, Jeffrey, and Wisdom! ❤️🎹❤️

After recently securing 36 Superiors in the AFMC Solo Festival held at UAB and Double Oak Community and 11 awards (6 winners and 5 honorable mentions) in the Sonata Competition which was held at Samford University, yesterday we wrapped up our busy spring semester with three wonderful student recitals. Julia, one of our beginning students, played the best Yankee Doodle in the universe and Timothy, our graduating senior, played an absolutely breathtaking Chopin Ballade No. 1. And there were so many deeply moving moments of expressivity and flow in between! Congrats to all our students and many thanks to their families for their amazing support at home! Next on our calendar are the AMTA District Competition on April 5, with 30 students registered, and the Keyboard Artist Competition on April 26, with 9 students planning to participate. But not before enjoying a well-deserved Spring Break for the next few days! Hope everyone gets some rest and also some good practice! Congrats again for a wonderful semester! ❤️🎹❤️🎶❤️

A few shots from our year-end party yesterday - we celebrated in style! Our time together included a “Guess the composer” contest, arts&crafts, and lots of chocolate! The AMTA State Auditions took place today at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The results are in and we are super proud of our students - all of them did wonderfully! 👏👏👏

We have 8 Winners and 2 Honorable Mentions, which is an amazing result! The group picture was taken at a rehearsal held in preparation for the contest - Timothy is unfortunately missing from it as he could not attend on that day! Congrats to all, we are beyond proud of everyone!❤️🎹❤️🎶

CONGRATULATIONS 👏👏👏 are in order for the 34 Solare students who performed in the AFMC Solo Festivals on 2/10 and 2/17 at Samford Academy of the Arts. All received Superior (the highest score awarded) in their respective categories and made us extremely proud!
