Mitchell's Place, Inc. We strive to unlock the potential of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Note: Translator and translated documents are available upon request.

Mitchell’s Place provides an array of outcome-based, early intervention programs specifically designed to enable children with autism to reach their highest potential before transitioning to a public-school setting. The Early Learning Preschool (ELP) is an Accredited program and consists of four classrooms serving children ages two to six. Operating year round, it is an inclusive program serving b

oth children with autism and an equal number of typically developing peers. Teach Me is another early intervention program involving an intense individualized curriculum for children with autism who have extensive needs in a one-on-one setting. A third educational offering at Mitchell’s Place is the After-School Social Groups that teach children how to socially interact in a group setting. In this program, children ages six to ten learn social, recreational and life skills. Additionally, Mitchell’s Place offers Psychology, Psychiatry, Speech, Occupational, and Feeding Therapy; as well as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services in an outpatient model. Today’s Miracle Monday is Audrey from our Flamingos classroom! Audrey has shown so much growth over the past several months, and we are so proud of the progress she continues to make! She has worked hard on following directions, participating in small-group activities, taking turns with teachers and peers, and building confidence in her early literacy and writing skills.

Audrey has also continued strengthening her understanding of classroom concepts, showing more independence during activities, and becoming increasingly confident in what she knows. After a wonderful year of growth in the Songbirds classroom, she recently transitioned to the Flamingos for the new school year, and we are so excited to watch her continue learning, growing, and taking on new challenges! 💛

This week’s Teachable Tuesday comes from the Ladybug classroom! 🐞Our Ladybugs have been getting creative as they explore the colorful world of Eric Carle! From painting and dot-stamping to coloring, our little artists have been busy creating their own versions of some of our favorite Eric Carle characters, including the Purple Cat and Blue Horse!

Each activity has given our Ladybugs the opportunity to experiment with different art materials, practice fine-motor skills, and, most importantly, express their own unique creativity! We love watching each child make their artwork their own!

This weeks Miracle Monday comes from the Ladybug classroom! Charlie is such a hard worker and such a sweet friend! He has been working hard on putting together 2-, 3- and 4-piece puzzles independently during our math activities and expressing his creativity in various forms during our art time. Whether we are painting with watercolors, using dot stampers, or coloring with crayons, Charlie is always eager to explore and create! 🎨

Charlie is also a big fan of our Pete the Cat theme! He has loved listening to Pete's stories and getting creative with our fun Pete-inspired activities, like dot stamping Pete's groooovy buttons on his jacket! Charlie is an awesome friend and brings joy wherever he goes - we are so glad that we get to watch him learn and grow every single day!
