Happy Sukkot! 🍃
Sukkot commemorates the years that the Jews spent in the desert on their way to the Promised Land & celebrates the way in which God protected them under difficult desert conditions.
A Sukkah is a hut-like structure that symbolizes all the time Israelites spent in the wilderness after they were freed from slavery in Egypt.
Today challenged fellow students in sukkah building. And we’re impressed! 👏

Happy Halloween from our spooky crew! 👻 We had the best time spreading some joy to people in the community yesterday for one of BSC’s favorite tradition, Halloween on the Hilltop.

This Passover will be more like that first Passover than any other most of us have celebrated. The majority of us — the lucky ones — are shut into our own homes while a plague swirls outside. And the night feels like it might never end. The endless posts, articles, notifications — these are like the cries of the Egyptians all around us. But we can’t really expect redemption at dawn. Coronavirus will still be here Thursday morning.
Yet the Passover seder teaches us to hold faith. Like our ancestors, we can expect this difficult period to pass. We’re not as close to the end of this road as they were, but one day there will be better treatments, a vaccine, herd immunity. One day, we will experience redemption — again. | Words from Rachel Scheinerman found on myjewishlearning.com
We wish you a happy & healthy Passover as you gather with your family. May faith & actions bring comfort & healing for all.
