Saint Rose Academy is a private, non-profit Catholic school operated by the Dominican Sisters of the Saint Cecilia Congregation that offers a premium education to students in grades 3k to 8th. Located atop Red Mountain and overlooking downtown Birmingham, Alabama, Saint Rose has served generations of school children since its doors first opened in 1956. With 208 students representing 143 families

from various areas of our great city, we are proud to minister and teach a wide cross-section of our community. Inspired by Christ’s words, “I came that they may have life and have it to the full,” we at Saint Rose Academy dedicate our apostolate to providing a Catholic education in a nurturing environment, promoting the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical needs of the child. Fully aware of the accelerating changes in society, we work diligently to lead our students in an unending pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.

Saint Rose Academy in Birmingham will host a Vocation Discernment series of classes for young, single, Catholic women ages 17 and older who would like to learn more about vocation discernment and religious life. They will begin on Wednesday September 9. Advance registration is required and must be submitted by September 4. Please email birmingham (at) op-tn (dot) org for more information or to register.

Today was a beautiful day at Saint Rose Academy as we officially dedicated our new playground!

Father Bolus and Deacon Sampayo led us in a special blessing and dedication, giving thanks for this wonderful addition to our school and for the joy it will bring our students for years to come.

We are incredibly grateful to ROSS TORTORIGI of Ross Tortorigi, Inc. for making this playground possible. Your generosity and commitment to Saint Rose Academy is such a gift!

2 of the top 10 (Kate Moore and Walter Hungerpiller) were Saint Rose Academy alumni as well as the National Merit Scholar! Congratulations to Kate Moore for winning the Math award (thank you, Mrs. Hensley!) as well as the Mary, Mother of Grace award for her beautiful virtue. So many awesome awards and honors received yesterday! May God bless all the graduates!
