Job Type: Fulltime | Schedule and Salary Range: Hours of work and schedule are based upon program needs and availability of funding $10.00-$12.00 per hour.

Sure Foundation Christian Church Child Development Center is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic preschool teacher. This teacher should have experience working with children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. The ideal candidate would be responsible for teaching the whole child and developing his or her social, emotional, and academic growth and establishing partnerships with families and community.
This position reports to the SFCCDC Director.

Must be flexible to work any shift offered.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The ideal candidate meets the following requirements:
• The love of teaching and the desire to make a difference in the lives of others
• A professional, positive attitude and a caring loving attitude with children
• Classroom duties include but aren't limited to: help children with eating, diapering/toileting, cleaning, keeping a clean and safe room, keeping a Quality Care compliant classroom, keeping appropriate logs and making sure everything is in compliance with DHR Development Standards.
• Able to stand for long periods of time, frequent walking, sitting on the floor and playing with children, and being able to lift a child. You must be able to get up off the floor and stand up quickly.
• Experience with DHR Regulations, and classroom experience.
• All candidates must pass the national criminal background check.
• Fluency and clear communication in English. Must be able to communicate with other staff and parents clearly in both verbal and written
• Works collaboratively with faculty to enhance curriculum and community
• Commitment to professional development and growth
• Understand developmentally appropriate practice and developmental stage of children
Assist in implementation and planning of program events; Volunteer for at least 2 program events; Attend all staff meetings and trainings scheduled; Maintain confidentiality regarding all personal information regarding children, families and staff; Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in education; and Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
If Certificate is not available at the time of applying: Qualified Candidate MUST be enrolled in an accredited program and or in current pursuit of License or Certificate to complement)

Skills: Strong interpersonal skills including ability to work and communicate effectively and collaboratively with a diverse population; Ability to work cooperatively with other staff members, to accept the responsibility of supervision; and to help promote a positive environment; Excellent verbal communication skills, including clear speech enunciation, and accurate spoken English grammar that can serve as a good model for children who are developing their language skills; Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to present to groups and individuals about the organization’s mission; Warm nurturing attitude; Friendly, inviting, self-motivated, even-tempered and adaptable; Ability to demonstrate and teach Christ-based behaviors; and Solid computer skills and ability to manage and report data accurately and efficiently. Spanish or American Sign Language fluency desirable.

High School Diploma or GED Certificate
An Associate’s Degree in Early Child Education and Child Development
A BS in Early Childhood Education/Elementary Education
CDA (infant/toddler or pre-school)
CPR Certified Certification Strongly Preferred
