Our Oak Mountain High School students traveled to Oak Mountain Elementary today for their Career Day! They gave a presentation to 3rd graders about their programs at CTEC and the field of work they will be going into. They also brought along some cool tools they use every day in their work! Thank you to for having us and to our amazing CTEC students Andrew Blackmon, Alexis Chaidez-Cruz, Karyme Rendon Leguisamo, Ana Silverstein, & Brady DeNard!!

We were so grateful to have Aubri McClendon from &Consulting join us at Calera High School! She gave our students an inside look at careers in psychology, counseling, and therapy, while also sharing her journey as a business owner and entrepreneur. From her education and experiences to building her own practice, Aubri provided valuable insight and inspiration for our students exploring this field. Thank you for pouring into the next generation!

Today at OMHS, we hosted a Career Fair! 25 companies from the area come to pour into our juniors and seniors about different career opportunities and even some internships that they can participate in! Thank you to all our, guests, the fantastic OMHS Counseling for helping organize, and Events on the Mountain for a delicious breakfast!!

Thank you to Jake Dean and his panel for coming to OMHS as this month’s Career Spotlight on Nursing! Students learned about nursing, the different types, and the different routes to get into nursing. Jake has been traveling to many of the Shelby County Schools spreading the word on the importance of nurses in the workforce!!

Such a fun day at Forest Oaks Elementary School!
Students had an amazing time exploring the different vehicles and meeting the people who operate them on a daily basis! From Fire engines to historic military vehicles, there were so many hands-on learning experiences! Students asked questions about their careers and how they got to where they are!

A huge THANK YOU to our community partners for bringing these awesome vehicles and taking time to teach our students about what they do everyday. It was a great way to make learning come to life!

Also a huge shout out to the fantastic Peer Helpers at Chelsea High School! We couldn’t have pulled this off without you!

Today, students from Chelsea High School had the opportunity to tour the Radiology Department at UAB! Students were able to see first hand what the day to day looks like for these professionals. Students observed Ultrasound, MRI, CT, and X-Ray modalities. The day was finished by participating in a Q & A panel with individuals from the field!
