If you haven’t heard, AYSO Area G is holding an in person Basic Referee course this weekend August 29th. If you know of someone that might be interested in becoming a referee, please pass this information on to them. Attendees need to be a registered volunteer with their local region before they can be added to the class roster. Then you can register for the class in AYSOU.

All Referees must annually register as a volunteer and complete an annual background check and have current training certifications: AYSO Safe Haven, CDC Concussion Awareness, and Safesport. All of this required training can be found in AYSOU. Additionally, California, Indiana, Maryland, Ohio, Tennessee, Washington require completion of Sudden Cardiac Arrest training. AYSO recommends that all referees complete this. Youth referees need to complete AYSO Safe Haven and the CDC Concussion Awareness.

AYSO Area G is also holding an on-line companion course on Saturday September 12th. Attendees need to complete the on-line Regional Referee course in AYSOU and then register and complete the in person companion course.

Reminder!! Especially for new parents, please be sure cleats are SOCCER cleats.
Football and baseball cleats are not allowed, they are different, and baseball cleats have a metal toe that is very dangerous in soccer.
If you have questions, feel free to reach out to us or your child's coach!

Equipment reminders as we get closer to the season:

ALL players must wear shinguards with socks over them for all practices and games

Cleats- firm ground soccer cleats
For 3-5 year olds sneakers are also fine

Kickstart, U6 and U8: Size 3 ball
U10 & U12: Size 4 ball
U15: Size 5

We provide game socks but extra for practice are helpful to have so the game socks aren't getting destroyed.
Any color is fine for practice socks

No jeans for practices
No jewelery or metal in hair

Reminder: if you are in need of gently used cleats, send us a message!! We have a full tote that you are welcome to pick from.

We need ball runners at the Boys Varsity soccer game today. Game starts at 5:30 behind MGMS. Even if you can only help the second half we would be glad to have you!

Unexpected change has left us in need of a U6 coach. If you or someone you know would be interested, please let us know ASAP.

Emails have been sent to those listed in registration.

If we do not get an update by Wednesday 8/26, we will schedule a parent meeting to discuss next steps.
*Update- we have a parent who has volunteered to coach! Letting him get paperwork completed and we will update here until he gets his roster to contact parents with practice plans.

Kickstart and U8 rosters have been sent to coaches, you should be hearing from a coach this week with practice plans.
Practices will be starting the week of September 1st

As we tell our players each season: Play hard. Play safe. HAVE FUN!

As summer winds down in the next few weeks, we are excited to get kids back out to the fields and see how much growth and fun they have this season.

We are in need of volunteers to help with field lining, painting and net replacement. If you are able to help, please comment below.

Season scheduling updates:
Kickstart, U6 and U8 practices will be starting after August 25th.

U10, U12, U15 will be starting the week of the 18th or some teams may choose to wait until the first week of school. Keep an eye out for messages from your coach with schedule plans.

U15 boys: we are working on processing refunds due to insufficient team numbers. We will be sending checks to the address on file.

Interplay games will begin September 12th, with plans for U8 games to begin September 19th.

Kickstart and u6 will work towards scrimmages on practice days but do not have full regular games at this age.

See info below for upcoming classes

Aug 29th - Regional Ref, all day version from 9-5, $20 includes lunch. Also "Mentoring" class, $10, should be Intermediate referees and up OR an RRA, $10 includes lunch and runs 9-1.

September 12th - Regional Online Companion, 9-1, $20 and lunch with additional discussion offered. Also Regional Referee Administrator class, 9-1, $10, lunch provided.
