The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at Binghamton University supports the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives that create a welcoming campus climate that exudes a fundamental respect for human diversity in all its dimensions. Welcome to our new series, , DEI edition. First up: The newest member of the DEI team: Vivian Amaro, search operation coordinator.

“So, I’m from Sacramento, California; I’m not a local. I moved here last year for my partner's schooling, and now we’re just trying to make this home. But since moving here, I've really just been like, let's just see where things go. So I mean, I worked at Lourdes Health and Fitness and waited tables at Park Diner. It’s actually where I met someone from the division [DEI] who said, ‘Hey, you should apply to this opening we have.’ And now I work in the division. So lately, it’s just about letting the flow happen.”
