Looking to clean out your closets? Do you need a place to donate shoes? Please bring them to Coolidge as we participate in Kindness for the month of October .
Introducing the Kind Soles Initiative β€οΈπ
Kind Soles is the Noah Farrelly Memorial Fund's newest program, and it's built on a simple idea: pair Think Kindness student assemblies with a community shoe drive benefiting Farrelly's Feet. The assemblies get students genuinely fired up about kindness. The shoe drive gives them something real to do with that energy β kindness is the message, and the shoe drive is the call to action.
Here's how the shoe drive works: every pair of gently worn shoes donated does double duty. Our shoe recycling partner, Funds2Orgs, gives them a second life with families around the world β and pays us for every pound collected, which goes straight to funding brand-new sneakers for BCSD students through Farrelly's Feet.
And today, we officially brought that message to life β with our first Think Kindness assemblies at three BCSD schools! Brian Williams had students up, engaged, and ready to act. It was the perfect launch for Kind Soles.
Here's how you can be part of it: from now through October 16, Kind Soles collection bins will be at schools across the district. Bring in your gently worn shoes β any type, any size, any style, men's, women's, and kids' β and drop them in.
More schools will be joining the assemblies in the days ahead, so keep watching here as Kind Soles makes its way through Binghamton City School District!
And we're just getting started β in the coming days, we'll be sharing more about Think Kindness, plus announcing Kind Soles merchandise by Muckle's, business and municipal partner donation sites, neighborhood drives, drop-off events, and volunteer opportunities. Stay tuned!
