Yes!!! We do allow tree climbing at Forest School because the benefits for their balance, strength, coordination, confidence, and risk assessment are unmatched. Kids need to climb.

We love everything about this post and it is exactly how we teach tree climbing. Our height limit is shorter, “your feet can’t be taller than Maggie’s head!” but the other guidelines are the same. Risk is important and necessary in childhood- because learning your limits and how to extend them is something you will use your entire life.

We LOVE Forest School!

We are so proud of all of our students for planning, designing, and building our scarecrow display at Otsiningo Park. They put so much work into building these scarecrows! We’re #26 and would love your vote for our very homemade, very child led display 💕🌲🍄

We will be at this event with crafts and activities, stop by and visit!

We are loving this documentary series all about alternative outdoor education! The Moss House teachers attended the Forest School Teacher Institute this summer, learning from Dr. Jean Lomino and her team about the benefits of this kind of education and the importance of bringing it to your community. The outdoor education movement is growing, and we are proud to be a part of it!
