DUVCW - New York Tent # 2 - Mrs Benjamin Harrison We are a 501(c)(3) women’s service organization seeking to promote patriotism, foster education, and encourage historic preservation.

Our NY Department President and Tent President, Ella Youngs Peryea had the honor of reviewing the troops of the 114th Illinois Infantry at Lincoln's Tomb in Springfield, Illinois. While at National Convention we visited the park and attended the lowering of the flag. It was a solemn moment.

Congratulations to DUVCW NY Tent 2, Mrs. Benjamin Harrison for being awarded the Lulu Downey Cadwalader Award. Sisters of Tent 2 have applied for 12 headstones for Civil War soldiers, had them set and held dedication ceremonies to honor these soldiers. A booklet was written, published and a copy is available in the Daughters' National Museum in Springfield, Illinois. Shortly, copies will be available for fund raising. A true labor of love!
