It's day three at HOSA International!

"The connections that we make at HOSA each year are priceless. Today, I met with the Deer Family from Montecello, Mississippi. They are family friends with one of our alumni, Dr. Shelby Davis. We talked about how they followed his progress through our accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy program. It's so rewarding to talk to families like these. It's touchpoints like this that make these connections so important. I spent this week talking to prospective students from all over the country from Hawaii, to Texas, to Idaho to Delaware and more. Our accelerated program has so many benefits. It was great to share these benefits with them all week," said Angela Blahut-Neville, Assistant Director of Admissions, Marketing and Recruiting.

Thank you to HOSA International for a great week full of events and thank you to the City of Indianapolis for having us!

It's day two at HOSA International! We're in Indianapolis, IN celebrating the 50th anniversary of HOSA International. Today, we're exhibiting at the Expo speaking to students about the role of a pharmacist, the different pathways you can take once you get your PharmD degree and career opportunities for a pharmacist. We're also networking with organizations related to pharmacy students and the pharmacy industry.

"Just one highlight of many from today was meeting with a past advisor of one of our current pharmacy students. We talked about her progression over the years from being a HOSA student member and how they advised her in high school to lead her on her journey to apply to pharmacy school. Now, she will be entering her third year in our Doctor of Pharmacy program. There are so many doors that can open up for students through HOSA. We're so honored to be a part of this event," shared Angela Blahut-Neville, Assistant Director of Admissions, Marketing and Recruiting at William Carey University School of Pharmacy.

Our students are learning how medications are formulated, measured, and prepared with precision and care. Whether it’s compounding creams, capsules, or solutions, every step builds the skills needed to ensure patients receive safe and effective therapy.

It’s more than mixing ingredients—it’s about understanding the “why” behind every dose, every calculation, and every decision. 🧪✨

Preparing future pharmacists to make a difference, one medication at a time.

We would like to thank the students from Forest Hill High School for visiting with us today. We had a great time sharing more information about what a pharmacist does at a pharmacy. The students participated in an experiment in the lab, conducted an activity in the mock pharmacy and toured the Tradition campus. It was a great morning teaching them more about pharmacy school and becoming a pharmacist.

💊🧴 Did you know? The Prescription Bottle Has a Safety Story Behind It! 🧴💊

Before modern safety caps, medications were often stored in simple containers.

In the 1960s, Canadian physician Dr. Henri Breault helped pioneer the development of the child-resistant safety cap, famously known as the “Palm N Turn” design. His innovation laid the groundwork for the secure prescription bottles we use today in pharmacies around the world.

Thanks to advancements like these—and safety standards that followed—today’s prescription bottles are designed to help protect patients while keeping medications accessible and organized.

A simple bottle… with a powerful impact on patient safety. 💙

Care. Compassion. Community.

These are more than words—they are the foundation of who we are as a pharmacy school.

We are committed to preparing future pharmacists who not only excel in clinical knowledge, but who also lead with empathy, serve with compassion, and strengthen the communities around them. Every lecture, lab, and clinical experience is rooted in one goal: improving patient care and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Together, we are building a future where pharmacy is personal, purposeful, and powered by service.
