Our first House Meeting of the year was a HUGE success!

This year, we are challenging our older students to step up as role models and leaders for their younger housemates. They did such a great job guiding their den members, making connections, and getting to know one another!

We had a blast with house chants, a little house trivia, and meaningful conversations about what it means to be the best student we can be and the daily choices we can make to get there.

We are so excited about this new transition and the opportunity to make our house system even stronger!

🌎🎨 Around the World Through Art! ⚽️✨

Ms. Hoxie’s students are exploring different cultures, traditions, and art forms from around the world!

They kicked off the new school year by learning about the FIFA World Cup and Italian sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga, the artist who created the iconic World Cup trophy. Students then put their creativity to work by designing their own soccer balls and jerseys inspired by soccer balls, colors, and flags from countries around the world. 🌍⚽️

Their journey continued to Mexico, where students learned about traditional Amate bark paintings and the fascinating process used to create the paper for this unique art form. Students created folk-art designs featuring animals, trees, flowers, and plants. 🌺🦋🌿

To make the experience even more immersive, students painted by candlelight using neon paints, oil pastels, and glow lights while enjoying the sounds of flamenco music. 🕯️🎶✨

What an incredible way to learn about the world—one culture, one tradition, and one masterpiece at a time! 🌎💙🎨

Students who exited the EL program in spring 2026 surprised the teachers who made an impact on their English language journey with a sweet treat and an invitation to walk them across the stage at their Exit Ceremony. These teachers went above and beyond to support and encourage their students throughout their language-learning journey.

Sorting Day is always a special day at Popp’s Ferry!
Our students were so excited to welcome all of our new members. We even had the opportunity to welcome some of our amazing support staff into our houses! The excitement, energy, and school spirit were contagious! We can already tell that this is going to be an AMAZING year!

The first few days back to school have been filled with smiles, laughter, new friendships, and exciting learning! From meeting new teachers and classmates to exploring classrooms and creating lasting memories, our students have already had an amazing start to the school year. We are so proud of how they've embraced new routines, shown kindness, and jumped into learning with enthusiasm.Here's to a year full of growth, discovery, and unforgettable moments. It's going to be a fantastic year at Popp's Ferry!
