These buoys collect real-time information about water and weather conditions, including wave height, direction, and timing, as well as water temperature and air pressure.

So, why does this matter? This information will help communities better understand the conditions in our local waters and support safer, more informed boating, fishing, research, and coastal planning.

🌊 Public access to this real-time data will be available very soon!

📣Come see us this Saturday, and let's spot some shorebirds together!

🌊🪶Join Audubon staff for a peaceful morning bird outing along the shore. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just curious, this beginner and family-friendly opportunity is the perfect way to connect with nature. Bring your curiosity, your binoculars (if you have them), and your love for the outdoors — all are welcome!

🌧️A big part of protecting our estuaries is helping students understand how connected our watersheds are. Litter and pollutants can travel downstream, eventually making their way to the Mississippi Sound right here on the Gulf Coast.

Thank you, Bayou View Middle School, for having us! We loved exploring ways to keep our waterways clean and healthy!🌊

🎨 Calling all Mississippi high school artists! 🎨

Your art has the power to make a difference! Enter the Art Doing Its Part statewide art competition and use your creativity to highlight how litter impacts your community, our environment, and our waterways. Your artwork could become part of a statewide campaign promoting litter prevention and inspiring communities across Mississippi to do their part!

🏆 One winner will be selected from each of Mississippi’s seven regions. All seven regional finalists will have their artwork and slogans featured on billboards across the state, promoted through digital media campaigns, and showcased in a traveling art exhibit visiting communities throughout Mississippi!

🎉 But that’s not all! Each finalist’s school will have the opportunity to participate in a local cleanup project to help remove litter and beautify their community. The overall winning school will also receive 10 water refill stations to support waste reduction and environmental stewardship.

📢 Help us spread the word! This is an exciting opportunity for students to use their art to inspire others and make a real impact. Homeschooled students are encouraged to enter.

📅All artwork must be submitted to your regional hub contact by October 23 found at artdoingitspart.com
