🏐 What a weekend for our Lady Warriors!

After picking up wins against Great Falls Homeschool on Friday, the girls kept it going Saturday with a 3-1 win over Helena Christian, getting conference play off to a great start! ❤️🖤

Coach Steph described it as a true team effort, with the girls simply refusing to quit. They were scrappy, out-hustled Helena on defense, trusted one another, and stayed focused all the way to the finish. They also put up a big block at the net that forced Helena to adjust their game and helped turn the match in the Warriors’ favor.

It was a great weekend of volleyball and a fun glimpse of what this team can do together!

Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer them on. We’ll need you again next weekend when our Bozeman rivals come to BCS! Come help us pack the gym and keep the momentum going.

Our Lady Warriors are coming off a great day of volleyball against Great Falls Homeschool, with both JV and Varsity picking up wins! JV went 3-0, and Varsity battled through five sets to take the match 3-2. Way to compete, ladies! ❤️🖤

Now we’re ready for another full day of Warrior Athletics.

✨ Meet Mrs. Marla Renno!

We’re excited to welcome Mrs. Marla Renno to Billings Christian School as our new High School Registrar! In this role, she’ll work closely with our high school students and families, helping them navigate their years at BCS and prepare for college and whatever comes next.

Mrs. Renno brings more than 30 years of experience in private school education, including the past 20 years at a Christian school in Temecula, California. As Director of Activities, she says she was blessed to be in charge of “all things fun,” including student government, homecoming week, Winter Formal, retreats, Spring Tea, Prom, and more. Those years gave her countless opportunities to build relationships with students and walk alongside them during such an important season of life.

Marla loves working with high school students as they begin coming into their own as young adults, discovering their strengths, exploring new opportunities, and considering where God may be leading them. She considers it a privilege to play even a small part in that journey, which makes her new role at BCS a natural fit.

Marla and her husband, Dave, have been married for 24 years. They have two sons and a daughter, Zoey, who is beginning her own new adventure in Billings as a student and volleyball player at Rocky Mountain College.

Their move to Montana is one their family spent a lot of time praying about. They asked the Lord that, if it was His will, He would make a way. Marla says He continued to open door after door.

After so many years in Christian education, Marla deeply values BCS’s commitment to Christ-centered education and helping students become all the Lord has called them to be. She’s excited to get to know our students and families and help them thoughtfully prepare for life beyond BCS.

Outside of school, the Renno family loves a good road trip. Their longest lasted 24 days! 🚗 They enjoy exploring national parks, state capitals, historical sites, and universities together, so Montana should give them plenty of new places to discover.

We’re grateful the Lord opened the door for the Rennos to make Billings home and especially thankful that one of those doors led Mrs. Renno to us. Welcome to the BCS family! ❤️🖤

🎵 Meet Mr. Bryan Canny!

For the past five years, the Canny family has already been a valued part of the BCS community. This year, we’re especially excited to welcome Mr. Bryan Canny into a new role as our Elementary Music Teacher, helping our youngest Warriors learn to make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

Bryan and his wife, Molly, moved to Billings in 2021 with their three daughters, Cecilia, Liliana, and Adelina, all three of whom attend BCS. Before coming to Montana, their family spent nearly a decade serving as missionaries in Bolivia. While there, Bryan and Molly helped local churches establish tutoring centers for children that provided a safe place, academic support, and, most importantly, opportunities to hear about Jesus. That ministry continues to thrive today under the leadership of Bolivian staff, with Bryan continuing to provide support from the U.S.

Since moving to Billings, Bryan has served as the Global Missions Director at Faith E Church, while Molly serves as the Children’s Ministry Director. With a bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry and Bible, Bryan has spent more than 20 years in Christian ministry and has led worship in just about every setting imaginable, from churches and youth groups to camps and children’s programs in Bolivia.

For years, Bryan jokingly referred to Molly, who has a degree in Elementary Education, as “the teacher of the family.” But when the opportunity at BCS came up, their middle daughter, Lily, may have known something the rest of them were just beginning to see. When Molly casually asked the girls what they could picture their parents doing outside of church ministry, Lily immediately answered, “Daddy should be a music teacher.” Sometimes kids just know. ❤️

Bryan is excited to help students see music as one of God’s good gifts, something they can enjoy, create, and use to worship Him. His hope is that students leave his classroom with a sense of joy and accomplishment, a greater appreciation for God and His creation, and an understanding that their gifts can be used to serve both God and others.

And when he isn’t making music, there’s a good chance you’ll find Mr. Canny around a table playing a board game. From a simple card game to RISK, Settlers of Catan, or a complex role-playing game, add some friends, good music, and snacks, and he’s happy!

After five years of having the Canny family as part of our school, it feels especially meaningful to now have Bryan serving our students in this way. As he shared, “BCS has been such a blessing to our family... I love that I get the chance to give back.”

🏐 What a fun night in the BCS gym!

We had a great turnout for this week's BCS Alumni Volleyball Matches, as former Lady Warriors returned to the court to take on our current JV and Varsity teams. There was laughter, a little friendly rivalry, and some seriously competitive volleyball!

Thank you to our alumni for coming back and making the night so much fun, and to the parents, families, friends, students, and fans who filled the stands. ❤️🖤

And if the alumni game was any indication, it’s going to be a KILLer season! 😉

🍎 WELCOME TO BCS, MRS. JEN! 💙

We are so excited to officially welcome Jennifer Wilson (Mrs. Jen) to BCS as a Kinder Readiness teacher!

While Mrs. Jen may be new to our teaching staff, she is certainly not new to our BCS family! We’ve had the joy of knowing her for many years as a BCS mom. Throughout that time, she has faithfully volunteered in her daughters’ classrooms and has been such a blessing and encouragement to our teachers and staff. Her servant’s heart has been evident long before she stepped into this new role, and we are thrilled to now have her serving our students as a teacher!

Mrs. Jen brings eight years of teaching experience with her. She spent six years teaching third grade in public schools in Idaho and Washington and the past two years teaching Pre-K at Shiloh Christian Academy.

One of the things she loves most about teaching in a Christian school is the opportunity to openly share the most important part of her life, Jesus!

“Jesus is my rudder. He showers us with His love, mercy, peace, patience, and joy. To get to share the light of Christ with students and families is such an enormous blessing!”

Mrs. Jen loves the excitement, honesty, and joy of Kinder Readiness students and says one of the greatest rewards is seeing just how much they learn and grow throughout the year.

Outside the classroom, she loves working out, rafting, and spending time with her family. She’s especially excited to be at BCS alongside her own girls, who love being part of our school community.

We have already been blessed by Mrs. Jen and her family in so many ways, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome her into this new role. Please join us in celebrating Mrs. Jen! 🥰
