Navy Week 🤝 MSUB

The Military & Veteran Success Center at MSU Billings on Thursday hosted Rear Admiral Matthew Case, Deputy U.S. Navy Surgeon General, Deputy Chief of the U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and Director of the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps. The visit was attended by STEM educators at MSU Billings and the community to get some insights on how technology and trends are shaping the Navy Medical Corps.

Navy Week stopped by MSU Billings! ⚓️

More than 80 sailors are in Billings this week connecting with the community, and on Tuesday, some of them visited our STEM drone camp to share what goes into their work—from the science and math behind jet repair to managing drone flights.

After learning from the sailors, campers put that knowledge into action by building and flying their own drones. 🚁

A hands-on lesson in STEM, with a little Navy inspiration along the way!

That’s a wrap on an incredible summer of science!

This summer, Wise Wonders had the opportunity to bring the GSK Science in the Summer™ Be a Chemist! program out into our community. Our outreach program served nearly 400 young scientists with hands-on chemistry experiences designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and show kids just how much science is part of their everyday lives.

And we couldn’t have done it without some pretty amazing community partners! A huge thank you to:

We were also thrilled to partner with MSU Billings College of Education, giving pre-service teachers the opportunity to step into the role of science educators and gain meaningful, hands-on teaching experience while bringing this curriculum to kids across our community.

We are incredibly grateful to GSK for making this program possible and to The Franklin Institute for developing such an engaging curriculum. Partnerships like these allow us to take science beyond the walls of the museum and bring high-quality STEM learning directly to kids throughout our community.
