Hey PG here are some exciting events happening this year at the Archie Bray Foundation. In particular, this year they expanded the workshop series to include three 1-Day Demo Workshops and the first one is just around the corner:

A Day with Josh DeWeese
April 2, 2016
Tuition $75 (student price: $67.50)
Maximum enrollment 40
Open to artists of all levels

The workshop will focus on the art of pottery and will present techniques for throwing and constructing a variety of forms, including cups, spouted forms and baskets. Material choices and firing techniques will be discussed, as well as a broad range of ideas about historical and contemporary ceramics. Workshop includes an artist talk.

A Day with Sue Tirrell
May 21, 2016
Tuition $75 (student price: $67.50)
Maximum enrollment 40
Open to artists of all levels

Sue Tirrell will discuss functional forms common of her work and how she relates her surface designs to these different shapes. Demonstrations will include the making of plates and her decoration process—from basic drawing to layering of underglazes to intricate sgraffito carving. Workshop includes an artist talk.

A Day with Steven Young Lee
October 15, 2016
Tuition $75 (student price: $67.50)
Maximum enrollment 40
Open to artists of all levels

In this one-day demo-only workshop, Steven Young Lee will demonstrate the two main components of his work: throwing on the wheel and the inlay technique of Sanggam. Lee will throw forms ranging from his smaller work like cups to larger deconstructed vases. Students will learn about his unique take on the traditional Korean inlay technique of Sanggam. Workshop includes an artist talk.

Hey everyone. I will be in the studio from 11 to about 3:30pm today. If you need help loading kiln or just technical help I am more than happy to help.

Update for everyone. The meetings have been changed to Tuesdays at 6pm at the Art Annex. Also, we are planning a work day on Friday the 26th. So this week. Probably in the afternoon. Hope to see some familiar faces.
