From the Glow Party celebrating academic growth in Mrs. McCorry’s classroom, to the unforgettable Ponderosa Field Day organized by Mrs. Fleming, this end-of-year season has been filled with joy, growth, and excitement. Add in the beautiful kindergarten concert led by Mrs. McKinsey (with Mrs. Fink and Ms. Kirkpatrick), the Lego Robotics Obstacle Course Challenge from Ms. Posdon’s class, and the always-legendary staff costume race, and it’s clear the energy and celebration at Ponderosa were unmatched. Thank you for an epic and unforgettable year, Ponderosa family! Our educational community is truly topnotch!

Our fifth graders had an out-of-this-world day at their Alien Showcase! 👽🚀 Students researched space systems, used engineering design, and created alien creatures built to survive in unique environments. They then defended their designs as staff and students visited each station to learn more. We are so proud of their creativity, scientific thinking, and hard work! 🌌

Our 3rd graders recently experienced an engaging field trip to Rocky Mountain College that meaningfully reflected the goals of the Billings Public Schools Graduate Profile. Through collaboration with college students during a campus tour, hands-on math and science activities aligned to the Montana Science Standards, and active connection with college athletes, students strengthened key elements of the graduate profile—communication, critical thinking, and collaboration. The day provided an authentic opportunity for learners to apply academic skills, build relationships, and envision their future, all while engaging in purposeful, real-world learning.

The final round of The Amazing Shake gave five students the opportunity to present to a panel of faculty at MSU Billings. It was an incredible experience and a fun, real-world learning opportunity for our students!

A big thank you to Mr. Jackson and Mr. Slavish for making this possible!
