Our students learn the art of self-defense by understanding leverage, timing, and thinking criticall Gracie Jiu-Jitsu techniques don’t just happen.

We will teach you effective ways (Gracie Jiu-Jitsu) to avoid conflict; more importantly, we will also teach you what to do if all your avoidance efforts don't work and you actually have to physically defend yourself. Finally, we will teach you what to do after you have survived a physical confrontation. Our business is to analyze violence and develop strategies that will help our students get the

job of protecting themselves done properly. We constantly look for and try out new ideas that work in self-defense regardless of your sex, size, strength, athletic ability, or age. When we stumble upon something that works, we study it and add it to our arsenal--Gracie Combatives, Gracie Bullyproof, The Master Cycle, Women Self-Defense, Law-Enforcement and Military training. We know that no technique is 100% effective every time for every person in every situation--we will teach you to prevail with the options that have worked for The Gracie Family and for our Head Instructor on the battlefield and in real life or death situations all over the world. Our main inspiration is the refined traditional Japanese Jiu-Jutsu concepts, strategies, and techniques introduced to Helio Gracie by his brother Carlos. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu as taught by Helio Gracie and his descendants has withstood the test of time and is still standing at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Billings. Since they saw Royce Gracie control and submit men twice his size more than ten years ago, people have been wondering about the martial art he used to defeat men that were stronger, faster, and more athletic than he was. What people did not see back then, was the hard training and sometimes repetitive workouts that Gracie Jiu-Jitsu practitioners undertake over the years to make their techniques unstoppable. Grand Master Helio Gracie was too small, frail and weak to put his safety in carelessness. The Grand Master was a true martial artist and he understood that natural body movement, energy efficiency, and strike proof techniques had to carefully be worked out and practiced in combinations of basic movements, postures, and holds.
