ππ» Life Lately in Our Infant & Toddler Building π»π
Our little learners have been busy these last couple of weeks! From cozy story time and exploring books to sensory play, building friendships, and discovering new ways to learn through play, every day is filled with opportunities to grow. πβ¨
The children have enjoyed spending time in our reading areas, turning pages, looking at pictures, and listening to stories with their teachers. Reading helps build language skills, encourages imagination, and lays the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. β€οΈ
We've also been busy exploring sensory materials, practicing fine motor skills, climbing and moving our bodies, and enjoying plenty of social interactions with friends. Whether they are sharing toys, investigating new textures, or simply snuggling up with a book, these everyday moments are helping them build confidence, independence, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. π
Over the last few weeks, we've also enjoyed outdoor play, water sensory activities, celebrating birthdays, and making lots of memories together. It is amazing to watch how much these little ones grow and learn in such a short amount of time!
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your child's journey. We love watching their personalities shine and seeing them reach new milestones every day. ππ»

βοΈπ Friendship, Smiles & Sunshine! πβοΈ
One of the best parts of childcare is watching friendships grow! These sweet friends spent some time outside enjoying the beautiful weather, sharing smiles, and making memories together. π»
Through play, children learn so many important skills including sharing, cooperation, communication, kindness, and building relationships with their peers. It is amazing to watch their friendships blossom and see the joy they bring to one another every day. π
We love seeing our Sunflower Academy kiddos learning, growing, and having fun together! ππ»

π» Sunflower Academy New Center Update! π»
We hit a small delay with the plumbing because we had to order some different parts, and unfortunately they took forever to arrive. But the good news is that everything is finally here, and we are now getting the plumbing finished! ππΏ
Seeing our sinks and handwashing station coming together makes everything feel that much more real. π
β
Electrical is finished
β
Fire alarm system is ready to go
β
Knox Box has arrived
β
Side door is installed
β
Keypad entry system has arrived (each family will have their own unique code)
β
Fence for the playground has been purchased
β
ADA ramps are installed and ready
Once the plumbing is complete and the flooring is installed, we will finally be ready for the City's final inspection! π
After passing the final inspection, we can move forward with the licensing process, bringing us one step closer to opening our doors.
We are officially in the home stretch now, and it is so exciting to watch this dream come to life. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, encouraged us, and followed along on this journey. We can't wait to welcome all of our Sunflower families into this beautiful new space! π»π

Today was a bittersweet day at Sunflower Academy as we said goodbye to Major, Mylo, and Marlin. While our hearts are sad to see them leave, we are so excited for the new journey that awaits their family as they move out of state.
These sweet boys have brought so many smiles, laughs, and special memories to our daycare family. Watching them learn, grow, make friends, and become part of our everyday lives has been such a privilege. They will truly be missed by their teachers and friends.
Thank you to their family for trusting us to be a part of their lives and allowing us to watch these amazing boys grow. We hope this next chapter is filled with happiness, new adventures, and wonderful memories.
No matter how many miles separate us, you will always be a part of the Sunflower Academy family. π»π

πΆποΈ Exploring Through Touch! ποΈπΆ
Our little learners had so much fun today exploring our sensory texture cards during circle time! From soft and fuzzy to bumpy and rough, the children used their hands to feel different textures while learning about the world around them.
Sensory activities like these help support:
π Fine motor development
π Sensory processing skills
π Language development as we describe what we feel
π Cognitive growth through exploration and discovery
π Focus and engagement during group activities
It's amazing to watch our infants and toddlers learn through hands-on experiences. Every touch, feel, and interaction helps build important connections as they grow and develop!
At Sunflower Academy Sidekicks, we know that some of the best learning happens when little hands get the opportunity to explore. π»π

π¦π«§ Splish, Splash, Learning Through Play! π«§π¦
This afternoon our little learners in the infant building had a wonderful time exploring our water sensory bin! From splashing and scooping to feeling the cool water and discovering floating toys, every moment was filled with curiosity and excitement.
While they were busy having fun, they were also developing important skills such as:
π Sensory exploration through different textures and temperatures
π Fine motor development by grasping, pouring, and manipulating toys
π Hand-eye coordination through reaching, scooping, and splashing
π Early science concepts as they explored floating, sinking, and cause-and-effect
π Social-emotional skills by playing alongside friends and sharing materials
Sensory play is an important part of early childhood development, helping little ones learn about the world around them through hands-on experiences. Judging by all the smiles, giggles, and splashes, today's activity was a huge hit! βοΈ
We love watching our tiniest Sunflowers learn, explore, and grow one splash at a time! π»π
