Aim, throw, repeat.

It might be too hot to make a campfire but it's not too hot to let the sun work it's magic.

We call them "solar s'mores!"

Remember International Mud Day at First Things? 🌧️👣

At the end of June, we dropped the rules for a day — full mud, full mess, full joy.

Face paint, popsicles, and the kind of dirt-under-the-fingernails play that makes for the best type of childhood memories.

(Yes, we hosed everyone off before pickup. Mostly.)

Summer here isn't just "watching kids" — it's full days (and full mess).

Fall spots are opening as our summer friends head to kindergarten.

If you'd like your little to experience events like Mud Day, we'd love to talk.

Shoot us a PM or call 406-534-3442.

Because it was cooler this morning, we took a chance and walked to the River.

The humidity made it feel like Florida!

But it was worth it. We saw lots of cool swamp creatures: bull frogs, leopard frogs, minnows, snakes, turtles, dragonflies, ducklings, and lots of bugs.

If you'd like experiences like this for your kiddo, we have openings for Sept. Call 406-534-3442 for details.

Mud Day 2026 was a squishy, sloppy mess!

It's not every day that a kid can get as filthy as he or she wants.

(Very few tears, btw, considering how novel the idea was.)

The kids were generous enough to paint my head, making me feel like my 25-yo self LOL.

(I heard words like "flood plain" and "cresting of the river." Wow.)

We ended the day with ice pops because... well, it was 60 degrees and drizzly.

The kids at First Things are TROOPERS!

Our first was nonstop, no-limits fun!

(OK, full disclosure... there were a few tears at different times but not nearly what you'd expect. We've never done this.)

It's a special day when kids have permission to get as filthy as they want to.

And... the big kids were talking about flood plains and rivers cresting. Science class was back in session -- at least for the moment.

The kids even painted my head -- making me look like I was 25 again LOL!

We ended the morning with ice pops... very appropriate for a gray, 60 degree day.

Our students are TROOPERS!
