🎵 Deck 2 of my Rhythm Counting in 4/4 Time series is now live in the Boom Cards by Boom store!

This 15-card deck is built for older beginners, adult learners, or anyone prepping for AP Music Theory who needs solid rhythm fundamentals — no cutesy clipart, no fluff. Just clean, focused practice.

Students type the traditional counting labels (1, 2, 3, 4, 1+, 2+, etc.) directly under each note, with a built-in Rhythm Reminder feature so they can self-guide at their own pace. Perfect for independent practice, warm-ups, centers, or sub plans.

Note values covered: quarter notes, half notes, quarter rests, eighth note pairs, and dotted quarter notes.

Such a fun show! An amazing local opportunity this summer!

Surprise! We are SO excited to announce the first show of our 2026-2027 season, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. 🐝🎙️

A charmingly witty and touching story of a quirky group of competitors in a middle school spelling bee, "...Putnam County" has entertained audiences across the world since its Tony–winning Broadway debut in 2005.

Performances will take place October 16th – 18th in the Chelmsford Center for the Arts Auditorium.

Auditions will occur June 7th and 8th – so stay tuned for more info! 🤫

It's one of my FAVORITE things to do, but it can become a logistical nightmare to track! A kind musician who loves tech projects coded up this Music Request Tracker for me. It's COMPLETELY FREE to use and all your data and input stays local to your browser.

Track song requests, costs you'll need to process for reimbursement, urls for purchasing, and more!

Export all of your data or use it in the online app as is. It's highly flexible and well-made. So thankful to Lucas for his generosity in building and maintaining this!

I'm excited to have a new Boom Cards by Boom deck available this week, with wiggly, animated fish!

It took a while to get the image settings just right so that the fish would wiggle as students drag them to the correct piano key, but I'm so pleased with how it came out!

Chord inversions can feel too abstract for some young or new pianists. Using blocks makes it feel “real.” Use what you have to make manipulatives! I’m a big fan of sheets of sticker paper. Printable or just write on it with a marker!
